Big walk=old friends

Started today with a 5:30 walk along the beach...hardgoing I can tell ya' but a refreshing way to start the day and I plan to keep it up every morning.

The kids both had huge sleeps today and so I was able to have a lovely chat to my good friend Kirsten,in NZ.She lives in Cromwell but may soon be moving to Dunedin...but it will depend on fridays outcome.Good luck matey,I have my fingers and toes crossed for you!
I really hope you can make it to perth one day soon.
I tryed ringing my old friend shanz aswell but she was not home from work yet. She's a hard working lass, that one!

We caught up with Rose in the afternoon. She was looking abit frazzled and not just because she's the mother of a teenager either, although i'm sure that accounts for some of it.No,It is back to school day tommorow for her kids which means Rose has been running around buying school gear...I have all that to look forward to I guess.Anyway, she managed to catch a breath at my house before I ran her home.

My darling finished work early so we had pizza for dinner, all of us(even Ruby) sat around the dining table and ate.

Ruby D's first holiday

Roo,on a picnic stop at Vasse river,Busselton. If she looks abit pale thats because she was just recovering from that nasty tummy bug...but she was still an angel on our trip.
Ruby and her bro in the motel swimming pool...her first swim: 9-months-old.

Jasper had great fun "driving"the car...hence the look of joy on his face!
Don't we look relaxed!,ah this is the life...At Busselton beach front.Stunning!

Had a really enjoyable weekend in margaret river, truly a beautiful spot, and well worth the effort in this heat!.And we are already planning our next trip away.

"Stop it"

Jasper has a funny quirk at the moment,if i happen to be telling him off (which is quite alot these days?)he will turn and say "Stop it!"..hey,that's my line!!?

Well,it is set to be another scorcher in perth today(up to 39 Degrees),so we won't be venturing far .I have heaps of BORING housework to do,and just getting ready for our short weekend break away at margaret river,I can see us spending most of the weekend in the motel pool!.I am looking forward to seeing abit more of WA though.

Ruby-two-shoes has another tooth coming thru..that's 5 in total now AND she has thee most adorable blonde curls around her ears, she has also had a huge growth spurt lately.

farm animals

Computer still playing up,will post later.)

Am feeling quite stressed today, the kids have runny tummys and are both very grumpy and clingy and i am just so over it!!.Am kind of looking forward to my pump class tonight just to "escape"alone for an hour and that's something i thought i'd never say!

Better go,my son has just woken his VERY grumpy sister up...

The photos are of our little excursion to see the farm animals this afternoon. It was very hard to get a photo of my very active son,but i love the one of Ruby and her aunty rose patting the lamb and the one of jas and his cousin, ethan sitting on the little kiddie chairs.

A New Day

We all woke up this morning(yes,i did manage to get SOME sleep),feeling abit better.Dave joined the puking club last night aswell(not me...yet!?).But,as i say, their is definate improvement in the doylie camp today.

Apart from the puke,we had ourselves a nice weekend.

On saturday, after braving the Perth highways,(I know Heathy will know what i mean here!),I picked daddy doyle up from work(about a 40-min drive from our house) and we did some shopping,we came home with a new cot for Ruby.

Sunday was very chilled out as everbody(except nurse liane here)felt yuk!(Good english i know!).We had a walk in the morning to Fantasy Park in Waikiki,Jasper had a great time on the slides and climbing on the Dinosaurs and snake,(see photos). The afternoon was spent watching DVDS,am going to watch that one...mystic river...tonight,as i've wanted to see it for ages.

Well, back to the sick and weary now.

Later!.

That queasy feeling...

Well, just when you think you are in the clear,it gets worse...Jas is just recovering from a nasty 24 hour bug only to have Ruby start vomiting tonight!.
So,I am on nurse duty's.It is very late and I am tuned into any noises coming from my daughter's room.Sleep is the best thing for her right now but in another hour or so,I have to wake her and get a teaspoon-every-ten-minutes of water into her and this is for the next 4-hours and then build her fluid intake up gradually.I'm tired already and it's only the start of my "shift"

Jasper on the ride at the mall.

This ride cost $2 at Rockingham mall,I was abit dubious as last time jas went on one of these rides he cryed and i watched another little kid get on and enjoy my $2...but today jas was very keen and I'm glad i had my camera to capture it.

My Favorite Things

Took the kids to the doctors this morning,I wanted to find out about this bad nappy rash that roo has, turns out she needs abit of cortisone cream. They both got immunised,Ruby had her shots in her thigh and was NOT amused and Jas had a shot in each arm and was fine about it,especially when the nurse gave him lolly's after!.

Ruby Elizabeth is such a busy bee at the moment so thought i would mention afew of her fav things,so here goes:
1. Cuddles
2. Her brother, she idolizes him and trys to copy him(I remember doing the same thing with my brothers as a child)
3.Ruldoph the reindeer(a silly toy we got for her+Jas for xmas),she loves it.
4.Food!
5.mummy!(oh,OK..and daddy)
6.Games,(peek-a-boo,tickling,blowing raspberries,clapping hands,squealing...loudly)
7.bouncing!
8.The swing.
9.Bathtime.
10.Walks in the stroller.
So,that's where ruby is at currently.

Lemon Trees and things...

Discovered a lemon tree growing over our fence, figuring our dear old neighbour Dolores would not mind, jas and I carried our little basket out and rounded some up,unfortunately the lemons are still abit green but I gave a slice for Jas to try and the scrunched up face upon tasting made me giggle.

Went and had a haircut, well, more like a trim and I was halfway thru when my darling daughter started bawling!,the salon girls were very helpful and tryed to sooth her and all that but Roo just wanted mummy. So little miss R sat on my lap for the rest.Jasper,so long as he had his blueberry muffin to chomp on,he was happy as!.(Food is a great bribe with kids.)

Ok,I've done boring you all now.Hopefully tommorow I shall have some more "exciting"news.

Playground fun

Took the kids to our local playground yesterday,on our way to the shops.Ruby was quite content to sit in the swing(she loves it),while Jasper and I ran around. He grew quite brave and attempted the swing bridge but only managed to shuffle across on his butt as the one time he did stand on it he lost his balance and his nerve. His favourite is the slide which he likes to climb up himself but I was also pleased to see him enjoy the swing as up untill now he never liked it.

A New Frock..

Ruby recieved a sweet new dress in the post yesterday from Granny and Grandpa in South Africa.Love you guys!.They also sent new shorts and t-shirt for Jassie. Here's a photo,awww.

A big day at the beach

Today we took Jas and Roo to the beach, actually to two beaches, warnbro beach near where we live, and later to Mandurah, about 20 minutes drive away, where we spent a really great day with all the cuzzies in honour of Kyla's birthday. Both Jas and I did a couple of firsts, for me my first swim in Australian waters, and for Jas, his first "real" swim. He really enjoyed it, having all of his cousins around, laughing and splashing, really helped. Ruby had acouple of firsts today too, her first bit of toast (with marmite) and her first candy snake! It was an absolutely beautiful day here today, 38 degrees, Mandurah was really busy, a popular spot, a really nice place for a day out, shady trees, gentle, safe water for the kids to swim in, even natural gas BBQ,s, which we made use of. A really good day was had by all.

A walk on the beach.

With the cooler weather we have been having and the fact that my muscles needed some stretching after last nights onslaught of pump class,it was a perfect opportunity this morning to go for a walk at Warnbro beach ...the kids enjoyed it too.
Later,we popped over to aunty R's and it was fun because Karlene and her friend were there aswell and i enjoyed the adult conversation.Jas had fun jumping on the trampoline with all the kids.
Tommorow i intend on finding a playgroup for my youngest as i feel she is missing out on social-play with little ones her age.

Raindrops keep falling on my head....

Quiet day.Just trying to get the house tidy for 3-monthly inspection this friday, the joys of renting!.

Aunty Rose dropped by with all jasper's cousies',so he was happy. We had a good chat, she and I can find anything to talk about which is great.

This morning we had a lovely downpour of rain and the photo shows the simple pleasures Jas derived from playing in it...gorgeous boy.The other photo shows Roo eating Strawberries which she loves aswell as mango and well, most other foods!.

I am off to BodyPump tonight, should be good.

A quiet moment, hooray!,both children asleep and i SHOULD really be doing some housework but i just had to post a photo of jasper in his new Superman PJs which I brought for him this morning at the mall.I just think he looks so 'grown up' in them.

Perth Zoo and Picnic in the park

Happy New Year to everybody. We spent the first day of 2007 exploring central Perth,it is such a stunning city.We took the kids to the zoo in the morning but it was ALREADY siesta time obviously as all the animals were either sleeping or hiding!?.The reptile enclosure was AWESOME but i had to save my curious son from falling into the Lizard enclosure...DONT ASK!
We had to see the cute and fluffy aussie animals and ,yep,I think Koala bears win hands down in the cuteness factor...although they were clearly not as interested in us!.Maybe if i'd stuck a eucalyptus branch in my hair...maybe..

After getting a tad confused on the highway we soon were on our merry way to the gorgeous Kings Park, which overlooks the city and rivers. We did the picnic thang and the sightseeing thang in the botanic gardens. It got up to 29 degrees today so i made sure we all wore our hats and sunsceen.

So,happy 2007 to all of you.

We are back online so look forward to rejoining the blog family again.

The photos are from christmas and our day out.

Luv,the DOYLIES.
