Game drives..

Addo Elephant National Park was fantastic!.It was the most awesome experience just sitting on our "stoep"with a glass of wine ,while watching Zebra and elephants wander about the bush infront of our chalet. The kids had a swim in the pool...yes,a POOL in the middle of the African bush! Then later ,we enjoyed a beautiful meal ,watching the sun go down .The waiter was funny and chatty and he asked us lots of questions, where we came from etc.Wonderful!.Just before dinner we found a waterhole and watched as Kudu and Zebra came to drink...all while we watched.I was so proud of the kids in this moment as they understood the need for silence+ appreciation at such a moment, and they showed respect in that way to both the animals AND the others gathered there to watch. They are natural born explorers, our children .We also went on a game drive though a smaller game reserve in Port Elizabeth called Kragga Kama.A good place with children as the animals are abundant.

South Africa

Waiting for our flight to SA

We recently had the great fortune to travel back to South Africa,my husbands homeland, for a glorious 5 and abit weeks.Needless to say,it was hugely exciting for all of us!And it was the most AMAZING experience. Our children had their young eyes opened for sure. And those are memories that will stay with them forever.
The highlight for me?..That had to be spending the night in ADDO National Park, watching Elephants ,zebra + kudu walk past our Chalet as we watched the sun set and,the incredible dinner in the restaurant where we ate and listened to all the sounds of the African bush.
It was also WONDERFUL to see our family in Cape Town and spend quality time with our nieces and nephews.
Incredibly, this was my 4th trip to SA!And each time it has captured my heart+Spirit. No where else compares to Africa ,it gets in your blood .I already want to go back.
Here are some of my Fav pics from our adventure:
