Our mates Jack + Logan came to play today!

what have we been up to?...

Davie has our car at the mo so,we have been abit housebound but it has actually been quite nice.The kids have been busy pulling out their paints and crayons etc(all christmas gifts from family)and playing outside and getting mucky in the sand...inbetween the showers of rain.

The kids are loving having their daddy home more now as we wait for baby to arrive.Today jasper really enjoyed baking gingerbread men with his dad,he loves baking anyway but,having daddy to help was very nice for him.Ruby too is turning into a real daddys girl.Yesterday,we went up to Rockingham beach and jasper and ruby liked climbing the big tree in the playground there,ok..with help from dad.

No signs of labour yet.

Waiting,waiting....

A quiet time as we await the birth of our youngest child.The children have been keeping themselves occupied...Jasper is very into building with blocks and anything else he can get his hands on,he builds houses and roads and citys and today it was sandcastles!.Ruby meanwhile is very into imaginative role-play,copying mummy mostly and also having conversations between her dollys and teddies.Today i found her in her bed surrounded by all her soft toys,so cute.She has also turned into abit of a nark lately,quite handy actually when we want to know what jasper's upto(usually destroying something somewhere),we just send ruby off to find him and report back..heeheehee.

We drove out to Guildford today in the swan valley,a much older part of perth with lots of old buildings and cottages,very pretty,close to the city too.Our reason for the trip was to pick up the newborn carseat that we are hiring.The woman who hires out the carseats had two small children so,ofcourse my kids ran inside and wanted to stay all day!Jasper liked playing with the boy as like jas,this boy wore superman on his shirt!.
On our way home we stopped at Burswood park on the swan river,to let the kids stretch their legs.It was a perfect day for our children as every few minutes a helicopter would land and take off near us,also we saw speed boats,planes and trains(on our way home)AND they got to feed the swans,play in the playground and have icecream!(Yes,icecream,in the middle of winter!).Not bad.

Hospital vist and picnic in fremantle

Went to fremantle yesterday after our hospital vist in Subiaco.We had a picnic at the esplanade and the kids had a play in the lovely playground there.Beautiful winters day too.
Hospital vist went well,am booked in now and we had a scan of baby,which was amazing seeing him like that at full-term,dave said that billy was scowling.The good news is that billy is no longer transverse and is now in the head down-get-me-outta-here-position.
gosh,exciting.

Countdown...

Well,with only two-and-a-half weeks untill baby arrives(criky,that snuck up on us abit?)we really thought we better get bubs room organised.Team doylie got BUSY!and really quite creative...we found abit of neglected white paint in the garage,mixed some food-colouring into it and the result was a lovely aqua(?)shade.We then let jas and roo go nuts and with a tiny bit of help from dad,they each painted a section.

YES,we could have just gone to Bunnings(hardware)and purchased a test-pot of paint,but what fun would THAT be!?

We are really quite pleased with the babys room,it is cheap n'cheerful,not at all boring and it's a nice place to be.

Now,BRING ON BABY!

"Not so magical storytime"...

Jasper got very creative this morning with stuff from the pantry,he was very absorbed in it and told me he was building a house,cool.
I took them up to the local library today,thinking the kids might enjoy storytime...What a disaster!.We were late.My two were the only kids who were up pretty much 2-minutes after sitting down,my two were the only ones making noise,pulling pamplets off the table(and recieving stony-faced looks from the librarian),and my two were not at all interested in storytime.(to be fair,they had not been before!).I took them into the kids section and OFCOURSE jasper does a big poo in his pants!,and after pulling him(yelling and rebelling)and his sister through the library i discover the toilet door locked!Grrrrr...finally,after cleaning him up we made it back just in time for craft time after storytime(the only pleasant five-minutes.)Then,as we leave Jasper has a huge tanty!,just to top off an already awful vist to the library.
I'm far too pregnant and fed-up for that nonsense!.Next time I'll put a dvd in and let the little bugger run wild!,while I go and sleep.

Vist to Funstation

Jas had a haircut this morning and he now looks so grown up,still cost me $13 though,such a rip!.
Granny anne has sent a sweet cardi for billy,she say's she is abit rusty after not knitting for afew years but I say,it is perfect.Thankyou.I hope you and rob are having a wonderful time in Israel.

Well,we have had a fairly lazy and quiet few days.Being only 3-and-a-half weeks untill our Billy graces us with his presence,so,we have been just getting the baby's nursery ready and feel pretty organised now.
On Thursday i had to take Jasper to the doctor's as once again he is constipated!,poor kid has had this since he was a little baby but,it has gotten bad again.Anyway,because jas was so well behaved...touch wood!...I treated the squirts to mcdonalds and they had fun in the playground.
Friday was pissing down with rain so we had one of those lovely days of staying in our pj's,eating popcorn and watching dvds
This weekend we went up to the salvation store in port kennedy and scored afew bargains,lots of tiny baby essentials eg wraps,linen,blankets etc,it was fun and exciting shopping for a little baby again and it is definately the last time i will be doing it,unless ofcourse it's for other peoples babys!.
Jasper has been in destroy mode for the last few day's,ripping books up,getting into my cds!!Grrrrrrr!,you name it and jasper is into it,it's exhausting.The good news is,he does seem to be slowly coming out of his "late"terrible-twos phase and starting to resemble our sweet-natured little boy again.Unfortunately Ruby has now entered the 'terrible-twos' and her favorite word is "NO!" and she can be moody,but then,so can her mummy!.She is going well with the toilet training though and most of the time is a delight to have around.

Grumpy!

This morning I was running very fast and I collided into my sister,we both cryed LOUDLY but I cryed the loudest.Then my friends Jack and Karley and their mum,Jennilee,arrived to play(they are kiwis too)But I was still very grumpy and tired and wasn't much fun to be around.I did like jack's scooter alot,it had race cars on it,but i got grumpy with that too because i did not know how to use it-then i kept trying to jump on the side of the sandpit and falling over-very frustrating!.I had a bump over my eye and a scratch on my face from my collision and was in bad shape really.Mummy said to me "you ARE having a sleep today!"and I could see she meant it!.
mum made us pikelets for lunch and then i went for a huge sleep.I guess I MUST have been tired!.
When dad got home we all played ball in the backyard,which I loved,my dad rocks!.
