Feathered friends

The kids enjoyed holding these little feathered friends,at the local fete last wednesday.Jasper wasn't put off by the queues of kids,the cheeky monkey kept sneaking off on his aunty and I and reappearing with a fancy balloon or a painted spider on his hand(though don't know how he managed that as the facepainting area was closed when i took him?he can charm the birds out of the trees, that boy.)

Our cake

Today the kids were looking through my birthday cake books(i'm getting some ideas for their combined birthday party on the 5th april!)and so I thought LET'S BAKE!!The children did a great job.Jasper got to do the big boy job of using the electric beater!,which he loved!Ruby was very involved this time round which was lovely,she loved stirring the flour with her hands(and YES,she was offered a spoon!)and she and jas both got to crack a couple of eggs.
Jasper iced our cake later.Ruby,after her sleep,took one look and her's and jassie's creation and said quietly "wow!".So precious.

Can you spot the Two kangaroos in the top photo?

On saturday we went to Baldivis childrens forest.Enjoying the slightly cooler autumn day.We took our time exploring the bush.The children collected sticks and rocks aswell as finding a long tree log to balance on...jasper made it to the end of the log,brave considering it was quite high off the ground.

We saw amazing big spiders.Lots of kookaburra's flying in the forest,I love their infectious laugh!.The trees were really crabby+ bare of leaves but I liked listening to their creaking in the wind behind me as I walked and the sunlight shone on these trees and they looked stunning.I enjoyed walking through this part of the bush.

Batman and Superwoman

I Love watching the childrens imaginations flow.They both love to dress up...today it was batman and superwoman,ruby was quite definate on this,NOT superqueen as jassie told her she was.

It seems hard to believe that it was a year ago that we were all thrilled to hear of your arrival.It was such a joy to get to know you better when we saw you in Southafrica,and your cousins adored you too.

34 today

Had a good one.Dave gave me an 80's Cd(so good!..feeling my age now!).Then we went

to the beach and did abit of fishing(and caught nothing),the kids were delighted as they got to run around starkers!.It was really relaxing.
After we went to the Hippy-shake-cafe and had milkshakes.
A great day!.
