Good friends...good times...

Well,I had a very surprising birthday yesterday...Together,my two best friends (with alittle help from husbands +partners),arranged a surprise for me in a cafe in Rockingham, that was my dear friend Shanz flying over from NZ!!I had not the faintest idea!.They all hid it very well.Once I was over the shock,It was great to catch up and It was especially memorable as Shanz,Rosie and myself haven't been together,as in the 3 of us,since we were teenagers and all flatting together in West Auckland...a LONG time ago!

It was a fantastic, perfect birthday, celebrating with good friends. We also had a bbq last night and had a blast.

Today,we took it easy and hit the air conditoned mall and the 3 of us had lunch at ANOTHER cafe.

Shanley is here 'till monday so the next few day's will no doubt be very eventful.

This is Autumn?...

Another hot day in perth so we stayed indoors with our fan and cold drinks!..I think we are all used to the heat now.

Ruby has turned into abit of a drama queen just lately, jasper only has to look at her and she bawls her eyes out!?,heaven help us if he touches her!.I don't know if it's the heat or what but man,has she been cranky today!.

Jas pronounced his name for the first time today,"Jasper"just like that.Wow!

The kid's especially enjoyed their bath this evening,Jas didn't even complain when i washed his hair.

The doyle's hit the beach..

When we know the weather is going to be hot ,our family likes to walk and paddle on the beach. That's exactly what we did this morning. When the sun was still rising we went down to safety bay beach and the light was just

perfect for lots of lovely photos!

At one point jasper fell in the water and got abit of a shock but he did not panick, unlike his mum!.He and his dada had a wonderful time just paddling thru the warm water.Ruby had a tiny paddle too and loved it,she also loved eating sand and seaweed too!.On our slow meander up the length of the beach we saw a strange black blob in the water, dave seems to think it was a sea cucumber...hey,I believe him,it was definetly moving whatever it was.We also got a great view of a large group of pelicans on the shore,so amazing.

There were loads of fishing boats and eager fishermen.Dave is considering taking up fishing since he can't play golf.(His golf clubs are in a storage garage in NZ..)

I love public holidays.

Islands in the sun...

It was a stunning day in perth today so we took a drive along safety bay...the water was the most amazing blue! and the small surrounding islands and sandbars were so clear and felt as though if you put your hands out you could reach them!.People were actually walking out to penguin island along a sandbar...I so want to do that one day.

Anyway,we stopped in at the Naragebup Enviroment centre(don't ask me to repeat this),and it was Ok, Jasper sure enjoyed the fish in the mini aquarium,he put his face up to the glass and babbled to his new friends and It has inspired dave and I to maybe buy some fish for our little costeau. He also liked going up and over the little bridge. And i got to touch a puffer fish,oh ok so it was long-dead but still...pretty cool.

After, we clinbed in the tunnel in the kiddies playground outside and Dave and Jas had abit of a hair-raising descent on the slide!.

Labour day here in WA tommorow so a day off for daddy D,hooray!

A Busy day

My little darlings.
Jasper and new buddies,Luke and Ella...ella is SO cute!

Jasper had a lovely first day at his daycare, his teacher's Sam and Rachel seem very approachable and chatty. He did not eat much or sleep much but that's to be expected on his first day as it's all so new.He did enjoy the puppet show that they had today. He was glad to go home though and happy to see me and Ruby and all his familiar things...a busy day and he was exhausted tonight.

It was cool enough tonight for the kids to wear winter PJs...I scored jassie's buzz lightyear pyjamas for $1...what a bargain.I took a photo of my two cuties in their PJs and I love the way Roo is staring so lovingly at her brother in the photo.

Boy stuff...

This is jasper after completing a tower with his blocks...I was happy because his usual idea of blocks is to knock them down or throw them!,but to see him actually achieve this was fun...he was trying to say blocks, although it sounded like"Bla!"
Jas also likes nothing better than getting absolutely filthy at the moment, him and his trusty dumptruck!.He even gets his nappy full of dirt!

Baby on the move...

Well,I turned around this morning and Ruby was gone!...I found her at the end of the hallway, she had crawled all that way.I guess I really better have my eyes and ears tuned in aye!

Bit of a boring day today,I had alot of errands to do this morning and I was a tinsy bit anxious driving again after my driving mishap last week, especially as there was lightening overhead as I was driving(didn't help the nerves any),but ofcourse It was alright. My brother AJ and the hubby did a great job fixing the car up,thanks guys!

Our bubby girl is crawling!

Ruby started crawling today..we are very proud and kind of astounded how quickly her first ten-months have gone!.I now have two mobile kiddies to keep an eye on...yikes.

In other news, dave had the opportunity to vist Jassie's daycare this afternoon.Jas begins next week for 2 days a week. The centre is only literally three houses up from our house so it's very convenient...we couldn't get over how confident jasper was, just straight in there,he RAN up the balance beam! and went and sat himself in the middle of a group of little boys who were playing in the sandpit, who quickly turned around and whacked him with their toy rakes(not hard or anything!)but then they all turned around and started playing together?..little kids are so weird sometimes like that.

David's Birthday

Dave's 33rd birthday started off at 4:30 this morning(the crazy time dave gets up for work at the mo),he opened his presents..amarula chocolates and golfing mag from his mum and dad,CD from his sister, small box of goodies from my mum and photo album and belgium choccies from his gorgeous wife...so,thanks all for the thought.
When he got home from work we had chocolate mud cake to celebrate...and jasper sure enjoyed it!(see photo)

The damage

Started off well....

Today started off well.Rose and I and our little boys went to the mall to get the boys hair cut, well,Ethan anyway as Jas wanted none of it.Ethan looked very cute with his fringe trimmed. After,we had a nice brunch at Toledo cafe...croisants again!

And then IT happened....

We were on our way home,it had been raining and I slid out on the road and we went up a curb and into a pole, flattening it!.We were all ok,just abit shaken. Can't say the same for our car tho!.Fortunately I was not traveling that fast when it happened or else it could have been a different story.

I will post a photo of the damage when my computer let's me...

Back to Playgroup

So off we went to thursday morning playgroup. It was another good turn out and I must say they are a lovely bunch of people.
Jasper had a blast although as per normal at these things he had to contend with slightly bigger kids(two 3-year-old boys)who had to dominate...but jas just handled it in his usual no fuss way, which is;smile and take back his toy anyway. He loved the ride-on cars, even if he did keep getting stuck in them!.At morning tea he had ants-in-his-pants and kept getting up and stealing raisens off other little kids plates...he clearly loves raisens.
Ruby was very happy and wore a big smile for most of the morning. It is so great to see her with other wee ones her age.She watched her brother running around and I could see her wanting to play too.She had a huge sleep when we got home.
A fun morning.

A giggle...

One of the best things i love about Australia is the birdlife, fantastic variety and so colourful. We got such a kick out of seeing a Kookaburra in our backyard recently and I'm always amused by the antics of the cheeky parrots and cockatoos...which are at their most noisiest at this time of evening,heck..they just make me smile.

So do my kids,an endless giggle. This afternoon I was outside doing abit of weeding and cleaning up and I look over my shoulder to find one child has discarded his nappy and is riding his trike happily bare-bottomed around the yard and my other child is on her tummy desperately trying to crawl but going nowhere!,still she had time to stop and stuff a handful of dirt in her mouth though.

Kids!

The Bub brigade!

Ruby,Harley(9 months old),and Bailey(3 months old)...just hangin' out.

I took Ruby to her first playgroup this morning. She fell asleep just before we got there and so was abit surprised when she woke, she saw heaps of other small children and mums(and one dad),with lots of arts and crafts and a big playground...ofcourse Ruby is too young for all that yet but it won't be long.Instead she played on the floor with other bubs her age and i mingled with the adults.Everyone was very friendly and I enjoyed chatting to 3 other mums in particular,Michelle(mum to Logan),Robyn(mum to xander and adorable 3-month-old Bailey)and Katy(Can't remember her two little boys names?).We stayed for nearlly 2-hours.

It was lovely to spend some one-on-one time with my little girl and SO PEACEFUL,but I did miss my boy and after,I hurried to pick him up from his aunty Rose.He had a fun-filled morning too.

Butterfingers

Jas helped me bake some scones this morning,we had alot of fun in the process.Jassie had to taste all the ingrediants, including raw broccoli and BUTTER!!?,how discusting is that! but i'm even more stunned that he ate a vegetable!!.

We then added our scones to our Tuna sandwiches, boiled egg, apples+juice and headed off to the park for a picnic and to feed the ducks.Jas was abit grumpy but still giggled at the ducks and I felt so proud when he shouted out "Duck!" for the first time.

Ruby did her sitting-thing and munched on egg and looked very happy. They are so easy at this age!

Auntie R and Ethan visited this affo and the boys took turns riding the trike and wearing the chinese hat.

Just another day

Another non-happening day, been afew of those lately, but that does not mean we do not have fun.

Jas and I played peek-a-boo,with him hiding in the bedroom wardrobe, very funny..

Ruby is still stubbornly trying to feed herself,SEE PHOTO for end result of this!.She is getting very good at drinking from her sipper cup too.She even had a small piece of Chicken and Vege pie for lunch today,I love it when they start eating proper food.
