A big day at the beach
Today we took Jas and Roo to the beach, actually to two beaches, warnbro beach near where we live, and later to Mandurah, about 20 minutes drive away, where we spent a really great day with all the cuzzies in honour of Kyla's birthday. Both Jas and I did a couple of firsts, for me my first swim in Australian waters, and for Jas, his first "real" swim. He really enjoyed it, having all of his cousins around, laughing and splashing, really helped. Ruby had acouple of firsts today too, her first bit of toast (with marmite) and her first candy snake! It was an absolutely beautiful day here today, 38 degrees, Mandurah was really busy, a popular spot, a really nice place for a day out, shady trees, gentle, safe water for the kids to swim in, even natural gas BBQ,s, which we made use of. A really good day was had by all.January 11, 2007
A walk on the beach.
With the cooler weather we have been having and the fact that my muscles needed some stretching after last nights onslaught of pump class,it was a perfect opportunity this morning to go for a walk at Warnbro beach ...the kids enjoyed it too.
Later,we popped over to aunty R's and it was fun because Karlene and her friend were there aswell and i enjoyed the adult conversation.Jas had fun jumping on the trampoline with all the kids.
Tommorow i intend on finding a playgroup for my youngest as i feel she is missing out on social-play with little ones her age.

Raindrops keep falling on my head....

Quiet day.Just trying to get the house tidy for 3-monthly inspection this friday, the joys of renting!.
Aunty Rose dropped by with all jasper's cousies',so he was happy. We had a good chat, she and I can find anything to talk about which is great.
This morning we had a lovely downpour of rain and the photo shows the simple pleasures Jas derived from playing in it...gorgeous boy.The other photo shows Roo eating Strawberries which she loves aswell as mango and well, most other foods!.
I am off to BodyPump tonight, should be good.

Perth Zoo and Picnic in the park

Happy New Year to everybody. We spent the first day of 2007 exploring central Perth,it is such a stunning city.We took the kids to the zoo in the morning but it was ALREADY siesta time obviously as all the animals were either sleeping or hiding!?.The reptile enclosure was AWESOME but i had to save my curious son from falling into the Lizard enclosure...DONT ASK!
We had to see the cute and fluffy aussie animals and ,yep,I think Koala bears win hands down in the cuteness factor...although they were clearly not as interested in us!.Maybe if i'd stuck a eucalyptus branch in my hair...maybe..
After getting a tad confused on the highway we soon were on our merry way to the gorgeous Kings Park, which overlooks the city and rivers. We did the picnic thang and the sightseeing thang in the botanic gardens. It got up to 29 degrees today so i made sure we all wore our hats and sunsceen.
So,happy 2007 to all of you.
We are back online so look forward to rejoining the blog family again.
The photos are from christmas and our day out.
Luv,the DOYLIES.

A place of our own
We have got a house!!.So happy.We move in tommorow(friday 16),in the area of Warnbro,a nice suburb,very central to everything.Will e-mail my address to y'all.
It will be good to get the kids back into their normal routine but they will still see lots of their cousins as we all livw within relatively short distances of each other and Jas LOVES his big cousies and his cousin closer to his age,Ethan. They are both picking up terrible habits of each other so thats "great".
Love to you all, especially Mrs D

just a snippet
Hello fellow bloggers, well,we are having a great time in Perth. The weather is FANTASTIC,wish i could bottle it and send it off to you all my friends. The kids are slowly adjusting to the big changes, living in one room is stressful!!.We are on the lookout for a house...Anyday now Surely?.Australians are rather rigid on these sorts of things but once we get the boring little things sorted out and we have brought a car we can finally get out and explore properly.
We will be buying a computer when we shift into a house so i will post photos then.

Sniffles

Ruby has her first sniffle...and a small ear infection. It's always the way!,just as we are about to embark on a 8 and a half hour flight!!.Hopefully the antibiotics will clear it up enough so that we can travel. She just smiles through it all though, our little star.
Jasper too is abit sniffly so we are keeping an eye on that.We will just be glad to arrive in perth,we are dreading the flight,we are taking the "no thrills"pacific blue, and while we did save some money it still would have been nice to have one of those bassinettes for ruby.
Oh well, people do it all the time, flying with young children,so i guess we will cope.

One week!

Well,it was a good turn out for our garage sale.Made about $50 which will go straight on our bbq tonight.Jas had a great time with his partner in mischief,Paige.
We finally feel organised now,got a few more little jobs to do before we leave cromwell next saturday.1 week to go..AAHHHHHHHH!....ok,panick over.

Just a ramble...
Poor jasper...recently we have sold his cot and his highchair!,but it has been nice to see him cope so well with it,turns out he quite likes standing at his (child-size)table,feeding himself and who knew that he would take to a bed so quickly?...though we are still finding him asleep on the floor so we scoop him up and put him in bed.
Now,if we could hear him say a word or two(and not just babble),then that would be cool.
I think Ruby is getting some teeth as she is very grizzly at the mo,which is not like her.Our youngest is 6-months-old this week..WOW!
Abit more about my weekend,It is always good to go out with old friends and know you can just be yourself and not think about the kids for alittle while, the whole weekend was relaxed.
Interesting when Shanz pointed out that people were giving us "looks" at the cafe we all went to on saturday morning,as Dave and I juggled our two bubs.Makes me laugh as it just doesnt worry me anymore.I think dave and I make a good support team BUT i think even he and I will be tested to the limit on our 9 hour flight to perth(especially with Jas)!!.
We fly out of chch on sunday 29 oct at 7am...very scary!

Last farewells..
Mad,bad auntie Shanz visited this weekend...and we had a blast catching up,Jas enjoyed another big buddy,Ruby-roo's was abit unsure how to take it all really but when not "psyching"shanz out she would give her big delicious smiles and quirky sqawks!
Shanz left the heeled, fluffy slippers at home tho..fortunately.

About Ruby...
Our little girl has the cheekiest sense of humour, the facial expressions she pulls are classic. She is aware that poking her tongue will cause much laughter.
She has been sleeping through the night since 4 months-old and she never complains. She is a dear wee girl.
We sold our car today so that is a relief. It is all happening now.We just have to pack up all our stuff into boxes and pop some in storage and ship others...we are going to have a big garage sale!.We are going to have a farewell bbq for all our friends and next weekend my very good friend Shanley arrives, which i am really looking forward to.

Criky mate, only 4 weeks to go!

Well, perth is getting closer, only 4 weeks to go.Just talked to my brother and he thinks perth is marvelous,he and his family are all settling in well.
We managed to sell a couple more baby things;the change table and The Clunker aka the stroller...the 4 wheel drive of strollers and, although brilliant for us it did weigh a ton!,although strangely, I was sad to see it go.It is not an easy thing to see all your baby stuff sell.
But,onwards and upwards. Here's to new adventures and challenges!.

2006 blossom festival

Great day for the parade. Both Jas and Roos' first blossom festival.Jas was totally absorbed in the big trucks ,which kicked off the whole event, big trucks don't normally excite me but these ones were extra big, shiny and grunty!,and it was definately a highlight.
Aunty fifi and shane joined us and after, we also caught up(albeit very briefly)with Jodie,Aunt sheyrell,Des and all the kids aswell.
We went and had a picnic down at our new fav spot beside our tree that we planted, overlooking the river.

Fun and games
Jasper escaped thru our fence the other day, could have been serious as the fence is actually a piece of sheet metal that has come off it's hinges at the bottom...so it COULD have cut him or my neighbour might not have seen him running out her driveway and onto the road!!,I heard the commotion but K(my neighbour)was faster.I have a small houdini on my hands.
Today Jas had a play in the flour and the house was covered in it so,i grabbed the vacume and my funny little boy snatched it and was sucking his lips and tongue into the nozzle, well,i was beside myself laughing. He is quite quirky like that,he has no fear.He likes to stick his fingers down the plughole when we let the bath water out and he stage dived off the back of the armchair onto his face...Twice!.
Both the kiddies like songs being sung to them.Ruby loves Twinkle, twinkle little star and is fascinated by my fingers 'twinkling'.Jasper is fond of Open shut them because it involves tickling him and he likes the suspence.
Dave sang to Ruby in Afrikaans this morning, which involves a lot of ggg sounds, and she loved it as she makes those sounds too!
Roo also likes rolly-pollys(i have to push her over as she can't yet roll),raspberry blowing on her cheeks and tummy and peek-a-boo.
I made a small picture book for Jas today(because i get sick of him ripping up my mags!),and he loves it.Oh yeah,he is also fascinated with his tongue at the moment so he goes around the house with his tongue hanging out.
Well, better go as i can hear roo on the baby moniter making ggg sounds again.

God Of Nations..Lah de dah....
Dave has recieved confirmation of his citizenship ceremony date;it is scheduled for 27 september at Alex.Good news for us as it means he can now apply for his NZ passport and off we can go to australia..yey!
Jasper said his third word this morning,"Bottle"So cool.He is also feeding himself now...and the walls, floor etc.He was not happy with daddy going off and leaving him and even gave dave a tiny smack on the hand when he got home from Kurow.Poor daddy felt abit sad about that but today all is forgotten.
Roo is a little round ball of happiness!.I can't believe she was my tiny newborn not that long ago.She has the barron cheeks!!.She is now on baby rice(farex) and is doing really well.
We have had squally, gusty winds down here all night and this morning.Somebodys drain pipe is resting in our backyard?and we had a power cut at 5:30...fun when you are trying to get bottles. But,we are having a very relaxing morning all together, safe and warm,my little family.
